New Work

So, we are slowly settling into being back home in Charleston. It's a little bit crazy because we are living with my dad on Wadmalaw Island (a beautiful oak dripping island about 25 minutes south west of Charleston) until we move into our house May 1rst on Johns Island. So everything is still all packed under the my dad's house, which makes finding things not so easy. Fortunetly, my studio is all packed up and pretty much in the same place. The press made it just fine, thanks to Tyler and some of our sweet friends getting it on the trailor. So everything is going great, I am anxious to get us in our new house and settled down though, but all in good time.

I wanted to share some new invites with you all that we just designed. One is a fun take on modern caligraphy, perfect for that Charleston Wedding at The William Aiken House and the other one stems from an old down town Charleston Street, which I have always loved, called Legare Street (pronounced Lah-Gree). I hope you love these.

Custom Birth Announcements

For Ayat and Azaan

I always love when I get the opportunity to design a custom birth announcement for a new baby, in this case twins. Being a mom myself, I look back on that time (a year and a half ago!!) and it was such an incredible feeling to announce our sweet Riley Magnolia to our family and friends through her announcement, I am honored everyday that someone picks me to be a part of that... Have I ever told you that I love my job?!

Shafeena really wanted these to be sophisiticated and classic but also informative. She gave me a few inspirational guidelines and then I ran with it from there. The color palette is totally incredible and those tiffany blue edges totally make me melt.

Congrats Shafeena and Adeeb!

Geometric & Graphic

*Featured on Brookyln Bride

I have been really into pattern lately. Geometric shapes are trending right now like crazy! Brides are getting more modern and it's totally exciting! So instead of the same old white paper or colored stock with letterpress, we wanted to add a kraft letterpress hint to this invite. We constructed a diagonal kraft pocket and glued it to the invite so our bride could place her other printed materials that go along with the invite for her big day. We added various other kraft pieces to make the rsvp and the save the date all cohesive with the invite.

I designed the invites above for a couple getting married in April... Another couple saw those invites and loved them so much, they asked me to re-create the modern feel with the kraft embelleshments but with a different pattern. We came up with the ones below, except the kraft embelleshments are located on the sides and hold all of the couples information together when mailed. See below.

Anchor in Neon and Kraft

The Anchor suite dressed up in neon pink and kraft paper? Yes please!

We are working on this Anchor suite for a fun bride who is getting married in Kiawah Island... Except she wanted a fun twist of neon pink and kraft paper! Needless to say, we hit it off quite well. But we weren't sure if we should pair it with the grey and gold envelope liner or the neon yellow... Trying to figure that one out!
